Intro: [00:00:00] Welcome to Latter-day Miracles, where we share true stories of angels and marvels. Get ready to enjoy accounts from everyday people that remind us of divine love, that we're never truly alone, and the power of faith in these latter days. I'm Haley Hatch Freeman. And I'm Misty Smith. Sit back, open your heart and prepare to be inspired.

Haley Freeman: Welcome to Latter Day Miracles. Today we have Linda Perkes, and I am so excited for her to share some of her miracles with you today. I met Linda a few years ago. We were taking a class on public speaking together, and she's just left an impression on me that I will never forget her kindness and her love

just radiates from her, and I'm so excited for you guys to meet her today. I'm gonna let Misty do her introduction, and then we'll turn the time over to Linda.

Misty Smith: Okay. All right. In Linda's [00:01:00] six decades of life, she has managed to have about 80 years worth of life experiences. Surviving pneumonia at age 14, left your lungs forever weakened, escaping death due to being hit in

the head on collision in 2002, she worked her way back into health and strength enough to complete Latoja, America's longest one day cycling event. Also, since the accident, she has climbed snowy mountains, many rock faces and ice waterfalls. She has hiked up, then skied down. Mount Shasta and enjoyed multi-day river rafting trips.

It's amazing. Linda collects outdoor adventures like a cabin collects dust. Her career choices have varied from cosmetologists to telecommunications. Then she did a stint in the cellular phone industry. Currently she works in complimentary [00:02:00] healthcare as a massage therapist with no plans to ever retire as she loves her clients so very much.

She thrives on her close connections with the Lord, her huge blended family and her beloved massage clients and friends. These conversations led to her decision to collect and compile true accounts of miraculous events in the lives of others. I'm so excited to hear and get to know you with all this.

Linda Perkes: Thank you, Misty Thank you. Well, as I begin what I'd like to say, the first thing that comes to mind is Albert Einstein says either everything is a miracle or nothing is a miracle. He said, I choose to see everything. Life is a miracle. And so with that, uh, we'll begin. I am going to, um, categorize my remarks in, I have about [00:03:00] five miracles to share.

And so I'm gonna start, we're gonna do small, medium, large, and extra large, but not in that order.

Haley Freeman: I love it. I can't wait. Thank you.

Linda Perkes: Alright, so a tiny, small miracle happened in, uh, Christmas season of 2005. My beloved grandmother had passed away on November 4th, 2005, just two months shy of her 90th birthday.

And I was grieving grandma. She's such a righteous human, and, um, yet I wanted to honor her. And through that whole Christmas season, I kept asking myself the question, what gift can I give to my Savior? What gift can I give to Jesus for Christmas? What gift can I give to my Savior again, in honor of my grandmother's, uh, life of service?

And, as the season progressed, I'd think of a little something here, a little something there. We know that Jesus loves the little gifts. Don't, [00:04:00] don't we little gifts of service to others, but, um. Nothing had come to mind. Uh, and I was actually decorating a tree to be like a child's tree. And I went to the D.I. to get little stuffed animals and little stuffed animals.

I wanted to spend only 50 cents per stuffed animal because I'm going to load my tree with these. And I had a bag, um, in my, a basket on my arm, and I'm putting. Stuffed animals in the bag, just one stuffed animal. I looked down, it was 50 cents. It was really cute. I put another stuffed animal in the bag. It was really cute.

And then the next thing I noticed, there was a stuffed animal in my basket that hadn't been there previously. I didn't put it there. I thought, wow. I picked up the stuffed animal. I turned it over and it cost $2. Thought, wait, wait. I didn't wanna spend $2 on my stuff. Remember when I turned the stuffed animal around?

It was a little bear with present on the [00:05:00] front and front of the present. It said having a friend like you is the best gift. That's so sweet, what you wanna believe, but I believe I know who put that in my basket. And since 2005, that's been a really, really special experience for me. Having a friend like you is the best gift, so very humbling.

Okay, next miracle. Now we're gonna jump to 1886. In 1886, this is true story from my ancestry, and I'm not going to use the people's names because there is a posterity of about 500 from these ancestors and I was not able to get permission from them. You imagine that.

Misty Smith: Okay.

Linda Perkes: If anybody wants to know more about this story though, they can direct message me and I can lead 'em to, family search where this

story is told. Okay, it's [00:06:00] 1886. Uh, the mom is 33 years old. The dad is 35 years old. We're gonna call the dad GG G 'cause he's my great, great grandpa. Okay? And, um, a baby was born on March 12th and this baby was now about three weeks old. This is now the first week of April and mom is really sick. Mom is sick with mastitis.

Back then they called it milk fever, right? Mom is near death with mastitis. Baby is dead.

Misty Smith: Oh,

Linda Perkes: baby is dead. Baby is cold. Great grandpa, great-great grandpa, went out into the orchard behind the house and is sobbing almost uncontrollably and so distraught, and he is praying, what would you have me do Heavenly Father?

What would you have me do? I've lost two other babies. They had lost two babies previously. Now I've lost a third baby and my wife is [00:07:00] near death. How am I going to endure this? And into his mind came an instruction. Go over to the church where a meeting is being held. Ask three men to come and lay hands on them and ask for healing.

So here's what we don't know. GGG great grandpa in nowhere in our accounts do we know how far away did he live from the church. But first of all, baby's cold. Already before he went out to the orchard. Now does he have to saddle a horse and ride there or did he get in his buggy or did he walk or run?

We don't know. Wish we had that information. Either way, he goes to the church, um, brings three men back to the home, and now in the home are also three women who are wrapping dead , cold baby's body ready for [00:08:00] burial. The men put their hands on the mom, the wife's head, and pronounce the healing, and so many faiths do faith healing.

And mom was immediately relieved of her pain and suffering. It pretty much instantly healed. The men were ready to walk out of the cabin door and GG G great-great grandpa, called them back and said, please lay hands on baby. They said it will do no good. Baby's dead. He said, but that's not what the voice instructed me.

The voice said, bless them. Okay, so the three men come back, put their hands on baby's head. Now we have eight people in the room, right? Three women who were wrapping cold baby's body, three men, hands on baby's head, [00:09:00] and the mom and dad. We have eight people. We have all the names of these people. This baby was raised from the dead.

Misty Smith: Wow.

Linda Perkes: And that is an ancestor of mine. And I think that's kind of an extra large miracle.

Misty Smith: Yes, that's, that's outstanding and incredible.

Linda Perkes: And what's, what's super precious. This story is, um, held very sacred with all the descendants. And of course, I am one of them. I'm one of, I would not exist had she not been raised from the dead.

Haley Freeman: Wow.

Linda Perkes: Exciting and wonderful. And again, it's, it's true. It happened. It's written and many people are aware of this account and there were, isn't that interesting? Eight witnesses? I think that's unique.

Misty Smith: That's beautiful. I, I think the whole thing is amazing.

Linda Perkes: Just really honor Great, great grandpa. What? Amazing faith.

Misty Smith: The faith. [00:10:00] Yeah. The faith behind it.

Linda Perkes: So speaking of coming back from the other side, now I'm going to share with you something happened when I was 14, and I have not spoken of this publicly ever. So, but I felt that this was, an important and right time to do so. So I was

Haley Freeman: such an honor

Linda Perkes: when I was, uh, 14 years old, so this would've been the year 1975.

I was very ill with a respiratory illness and in the hospital for over a week in an oxygen tent. And I was in great amount of pain and for a short time I did die and came back. Now what I remembered when I went to the other side was taken from me until fast forward now 2007. And in 2007 an event happened and all the memories came flooding back.

Misty Smith: Oh [00:11:00] my gosh.

Linda Perkes: And when I was on the other side, and here's what happened is when I realized that I was in the spirit world again. This 14-year-old, I had been in so much pain. I basically maybe have a little bit of an attitude and I said, you can't make me go back not doing it. I wanna stay here. You can't make me go back because Right.

We hear that a lot from those who've been to the other side. It's so pleasant there. They don't wanna come back and a young girl came toward me and said, please, please go back. I'm going to need you to be my grandmother.

Haley Freeman: Mm-hmm.

Linda Perkes: And I did not remember that exchange. Obviously I did choose to go back. Now, fast forward 2007 and this grand baby girl.

[00:12:00] There was really quite a special connection and I wondered what that special connection was. And then those memories of her having encouraged me to return to my mortal body, those memories came back. So we are all connected and it's important. Right? All the things we do are all connected.

All right. Well now we move to 1998. That's about 27 years ago. I'm in the kitchen with my grandma. I think I have two young children at the time. Yeah. And I just turned her, her and said, grandma, do you believe in angels?

And she said, oh, yes, dear. I do believe in angels. In fact, I have seen one. You have, will you please tell me the story? And we stopped doing what we were doing washing dishes or who knows what. We stopped and sat down on the couch and she told me her story of having interacted with an angel or seen an [00:13:00] angel.

I said, grandma, have you written this down? She said, no, it has not been written. I asked her, may I write it for you? And over the next week or so, I interviewed her a couple more times and I wrote the story as if I were her speaking. I guess that's called ghost writing.

Misty Smith: Oh, is it?

Linda Perkes: Yeah. So I wrote this story as if it was her, and it was such a fun and great experience, and she thanked me so much for documenting this miracle that I

derived such joy and pleasure from interviewing and writing that I started asking friends and family, Hey, do you have a, a miracle story or angel story? Answer to prayers? And many people did. And friends would send friends to me and by about the year 2008 so now 10 years of [00:14:00] me gathering stories. I had a dream.

Well, before I had the dream, I actually received a little message from heaven and I was told, you're going to write a book. I said, back to this message. I don't wanna write a book. It's too hard. I'll climb a tall, snowy mountain, I'll bike 1,200 miles in seven days...

Misty Smith: why is this?

Yeah. I feel like when it comes to spiritual things, it's just, I think it's just because it's not the norm and it is just so unique and different to everyone. I think that's what makes it a little bit harder. I, I don't know. That's kind of my experience.

Linda Perkes: It's, well, you, one becomes vulnerable, don't they?

Yeah. And for me writing a book, I could just see, um, the horrible torture of sitting still in front of a computer that is, no, no, no. [00:15:00] You know, I just need to be active and, and going all the time. But, um. Fast forward. So that's about in 2008 when I said back to the voice, Nope, I don't wanna write a book.

And in about 2010, I did have a dream. And in this dream I was in a huge library, massive library, and a very, very massive hand reached forward and pulled a white book off the shelf. Hmm. And said to me, your book is at hand and the book had, you know, the spine was white. And I woke up feeling that that was some pretty clear direction.

Haley Freeman: Yeah, that's incredible.

Linda Perkes: Thankfully, um, God put lots of people in my path and helped me. It's takes a team to do something that significant and my first edition of [00:16:00] the book did come out in 2014, so

Misty Smith: Love it!

Haley Freeman: Yeah. I have her book. I highly recommend it. It has very fascinating stories.

Like I said, I highly recommend it. It's called Jesus is Here,

correct.

Linda Perkes: Jesus is Here. Come Join the Feast. If you want to Google it, you do have to put in the entire title. Jesus is Here. Come join the Feast

Haley Freeman: Good to know.

Linda Perkes: And, uh, the exciting thing is we just released a 10 year anniversary edition. Yes. Newly updated, revised, and an extra story that I just got that as well.

You read the grand finale?

Haley Freeman: I just got, I haven't finished the second time yet, but I just, and it beautiful. The stories I just remember. Um. From the first time, I'm just rereading again and I'm, they're coming back to my memory and I was, oh, yes. So beautiful. So, and what I love about this one is it's not just angel stories, but it's encounters with our Savior.[00:17:00]

So it's very powerful.

Linda Perkes: Correct. And it, that's exactly probably why in 2008 when I was told, you're gonna write a book, I was hesitant to do so because of the genres of books angel Angelic encounters answers to prayer, faith-filled stories mine is a lot more courageous?

Haley Freeman: Yes.

Linda Perkes: Because a lot more courageous because 11 of the stories in this book, the individuals were ministered to by the Savior himself.

Haley Freeman: Yes.

Linda Perkes: These are not stories where someone dies, goes to heaven, comes back that dies and see the Savior or come to heaven. No. Comes to them and ministers to them and not all of 'em were sick or anything. It was, that's why the book is entitled, Jesus Is Here because Jesus is here right now, ministering to all of us and

Haley Freeman: yep.[00:18:00]

Linda Perkes: He is present in our lives, and that has taken a lot of courage to release this book. And yet I knew know it's true that Jesus, so

Misty Smith: I love that. I'm excited to read it. So excited.

Linda Perkes: Good. It has also just been released on, Kindle as an ebook.

Also a really fun thing as I'm in currently in the process of reading it, so it'll be an audio book soon, very, very soon.

Haley Freeman: It'll be awesome. Oh, wonderful.

Linda Perkes: For us who enjoy listening.

Misty Smith: Yes.

Linda Perkes: So another story now, January, 2008. So grandma, the grandma who said, oh, I have to back up. Grandma's story is in my book.

Misty Smith: Perfect. Mm-hmm.

Linda Perkes: And it's entitled The Stranger and the Gate so grandma's in the book, uh, now grandma has, since she passed away in [00:19:00] 2005, remember, I, I mentioned that, that she passed away in 2005. Now it's January, 2008 and my husband and I have, been giving of our time and resources to someone.

And a period of time has gone on and we are feeling that our time and resources are not being used appropriately. And it's, we need to have a difficult talk with the recipient of our generosity. Hmm. I'm contemplating when my husband gave me a certain date by which I'm to have this diplomatic talk with the recipient of our generosity.

And the day came when I am to talk with the person and early in the morning, I'm working in the kitchen thinking about preparing to have this hard talk that we are going to withdraw our support [00:20:00] and I could feel my grandmother, her spirit was in the kitchen. Her spirit was with me. She, I could feel her, I could hear her, and it was so strong.

And I said, just a minute, grandma. I wanna hear what you have to say. And I went upstairs and got a notebook and I sat, I have a beautiful window seat with a south window in my office and I grabbed my notebook and I sat on the window seat in the beautiful morning sun. And I said, okay, now I'm ready to hear what you have to say.

I wrote down what she had to say and I could feel that my grandpa, who passed away in 1991. I could feel that grandpa was relaxing in my office chair. So they came. I did not see them with my mortal eyes. I saw them with, some people call it your third eye. I saw them with high sensory perception, right? I [00:21:00] saw them, felt them, heard them with my spiritual senses.

But what grandma said to me was, do not do this thing. Do not have this conversation, and I just kind of gulped. And then she began to explain an um, experience from her life where she shared with me how well she understood my feelings. She was passionate, she was empathetic, but she also said the situation will resolve itself soon enough.

Do not do this thing. And I felt like maybe when Joseph. I was going to divorce Mary and an angel came and said, do not do this thing. And while the angels who came to me were grandma and grandpa.

Misty Smith: That's amazing.

Linda Perkes: Isn't that cool? And the next day I was visiting with my husband and he asked, well, how did the [00:22:00] conversation go?

I said to him, I did not have the conversation. And let me tell you why. When I said to him. Grandma came and told me not to. He said, oh, your grandma came to visit. Of course he knows grandma's dead. And it was, it was adorable because he was so supportive. He said, oh, I'm so glad she came. What did she have to say?

And I was able to relate that whole conversation again. And I really appreciate my husband for believing me.

Haley Freeman: Yeah.

Linda Perkes: And not making fun of me for saying, I'm talking with people from the other side.

Haley Freeman: My husband has to put up with some of

that too,

and he's always so supportive and believing. So yeah,

Misty Smith: I think it's incredible when spouses take a second and like they have to put themselves out of what they would usually say, like, you know, and, and they have to take.[00:23:00]

The other side into consideration. I, I just think that's absolutely incredible. I, I know my husband has recently had that, um, where I have had some things come up with interacting with certain people and, and things in my mission and. Um, and my husband, I could see the battle he was having because he's like, I, we can't add anymore.

We can't add more people, more stress, more everything. And, and I just remember having to beg him. I was like, remember, it's not me. It's not coming out of me. It's coming from the other side. The veil has thinned out, and I remember him taking a second and, and he had to step away and he had to, he had to just like.

I don't know, figure it out. But then he came back and he was so supportive, and I just, I just appreciate all the spouses out there because it's a lot for them. I, I don't know. I think it's [00:24:00] incredible that your spouse did the same thing.

Linda Perkes: Thank you. Thank you. Well, he only knows maybe one percentile of,

and it's, it's all good. Right? It's okay.

Well, now we're going to, I'm going to share a couple little stories from my experiences when I'm on a tall, snowy mountain. Mm. So now it, it is 2015. It's the end of April, 2015. The book, first edition of the book has been out for a year, and so, woo-hoo.

I don't have to sit in front of the computer anymore. I'm in the mountains. I was, uh, part of the Utah climbing team that, um. It as a mountaineering group and we were climbing Mount Tuuk in the Lasal the end of April and the night before we [00:25:00] are to climb this mountain, six inches of snow has fallen.

So even though it's the end of April, we're going to be trudging through snow the entire time. Now I strengthened myself and worked really hard and had felt really strong to the point that, well, first of all, I am the smallest in this whole team of people who are on the mountain. 30 some odd people. I was the smallest 'cause I'm five feet tall.

I'm the oldest. The second person , next oldest to me is six months younger and a man, because I always thought mountaineering is for tall, strong young men, right? Yeah, really little me. I found a group and joined them in 2012, and yeah, I'm a tiny little old female, but it is fun ish for me, so

among these 30 people, [00:26:00] again, I'm the smallest, the oldest, and a female. But I am marching along climbing toward the summit of this mountain. And because it's so snowy over my mountaineering boots are what are called boot gloves. So I have neoprene gloves over the mountaineering boots over the mount

neoprene gloves are the crampons, you know, the spiky things everybody puts on the bottom of their boots and they're strapped on. Well, as I'm marching along, I feel that I am getting a blister.

Haley Freeman: Oh no.

Linda Perkes: Yeah. And you do not ignore a blister. It is a hotspot. The rule of all things hiking, right? We do not ignore a blister.

Well, I knew that if I sat down by the side of the trail and took off all of these multiple layers and found the blistering. The bandaids in my pack and put 'em on. You know, that's gonna take a half hour [00:27:00] now. No big deal. No big deal. This was a very safe, snowy mountain. And I could catch up with the group and, and it's not a race, but I didn't wanna stop.

So I'm praying, uh, heavenly father, what do I do? What do I do? I don't wanna stop. I just, I am feeling great. I wanna keep going, but what do I do about my foot? And I distinctly heard, why don't you pray and ask for the energy of a bandaid. I went, I can do that. Is that okay if I, I can do that. There's this giggle from the other side.

Yes, you can do that. So I did. Heavenly Father, please, will you give me the energy of a bandaid? Instantly the pain ceased. I summited the mountain with the first three men.

Misty Smith: Wow.

Haley Freeman: Wow.

Linda Perkes: Got a group of [00:28:00] 33 people. I was number four.

Misty Smith: Wow.

Linda Perkes: Not, it's not a race. Right? It's not a race. But I just got to giggle and enjoy that experience, and I just got to realize that no prayer is too small.

Haley Freeman: No, I think we limit ourself only, right? It's, I mean, nothing's too big for the Lord and we limit ourself only. It's amazing.

Misty Smith: I just keep thinking you are one inch shorter than I am. I You have, I mean, I have no excuse. Even running yesterday, I was like, oh, I'm just doing a few miles and I don't, I don't wanna, but you're incredible inspiration.

Five foot and no excuse. You are amazing.

Linda Perkes: It's fun. Thank you for that compliment. That's very kind of, you and I do get to [00:29:00] say that some people don't think it's amazing. Some think I'm psycho. Okay. Here's a funny thing you wanna hear. My second son, he's turning 37 in May, and he knows.

That I talk about him behind his back and he'll listen and he loves me a lot and he says, Mom, Mom, whenever anybody asks me, he's lived in a lot of different places in a few different states. Whenever anybody asks me about my parents, mom, do you wanna hear what I say?

Haley Freeman: Oh no.

Linda Perkes: Sure, son. What do you tell people?

He said, I tell 'em. My mom is crazy psycho.

Haley Freeman: Sounds like something my son would say.

Linda Perkes: I think it's the best compliment in the world.

Misty Smith: I love it.

Linda Perkes: She's psycho. Now let me tell you about my mom.

Haley Freeman: Oh, so fun.

Misty Smith: Yeah.

Linda Perkes: So it, it is, it does take a unique type of personality to be willing to [00:30:00] suffer.

This seems like a really good time to share a poem. The poem is entitled Reservoir, and this poem was given to me at a really dark, dark time of my life. In fact, when I get to the other side, if there is such a thing as a little awards ceremony. Like at Girls Camp, you know, at girls camp the last night, they have these little award ceremonies, right?

Yeah.

And they award for Miss Congeniality or the, the kindest, the one who's giving the most service, the one that keeps their tent the cleanest. Well, if when I get to the other side, there's an award, this is the award I want Most Traveled, and this is the most distance traveled from mountaintop to valley, mountaintop to Valley.

And here's why because just when I get myself to a [00:31:00] point of physical, mental, emotional strength, life knocks me down, knocks me flat. Hmm. To the deepest valley. In fact, I often feel like Aladdin, you know, in the movie Aladdin, where Aladdin is upside down under the water in the sea and his head is like bouncing off the bottom of the sea.

Do you remember that? Mm-hmm. He is just, there's nothing left and he's upside down. His head's bouncing off the bottom of the sea. Uh, sometimes life I feel like has knocked me that low. And yet here is a poem that I wrote during one of those times called Reservoir. Sorrow carves crevices in your soul, like swirling flood waters, gouge gorges.

Exacting their toll. Feel wet tears my [00:32:00] friend. Let them flow creating crevices, even canyons. Ever deeper they go. Carving places, open spaces, crested over before love wants to fill up your new reservoir. A choice you must make, will you let grace in. Trust the Holy One, divine. With your permission, He may begin.

Joy, sparkles and splashes floodgates. Swing open wide. Your soft heart now sings. Thanks are my very deep reservoir inside.

Misty Smith: I love that so much.

Haley Freeman: It's beautiful.

Linda Perkes: And I, I think that one of the greatest miracles is the miracle that happens when we let Jesus in. [00:33:00] Jesus can turn our tears into joy and laughter.

Even now, we don't have to wait until the next life for our tears to turn into joy and laughter . So in my book, there is the story of my first husband asking me for a divorce. It came as a surprise. I was blindsided and

the spirit in that very moment when he asked for, the divorce, the spirit said. To me, tell him yes, let him go. And there's much more to the story I'm not telling, but after this was about nine 30 at night and I crawled into my bed, curled in the fetal position and sobbed my heart out. And after [00:34:00] a couple of hours of that, our voice came into my head and said, sit up.

Linda and dream. Sit up and dream.

Haley Freeman: Mm. Interesting.

Linda Perkes: I grabbed my notebook. Notebook's always handy. Remember, grab the notebook when grandma came?

Misty Smith: Yes. Uh, yes.

Linda Perkes: Oh, it's always handy. Have to journal. I got the notebook and I began writing sentences about the new perfect man who is going to someday show up in my life.

Misty Smith: Wow. And

so is that your future husband? That actually happened.

Linda Perkes: It did, and the story is in there. The story is in my book. It's entitled A Hope Filled Future. It's on page 1 57. So grab the book and you can read the rest of the story, but

Misty Smith: I love it.

Linda Perkes: The point I want to make is that when we let Jesus in, he [00:35:00] does turn our tears

into laughter.

Haley Freeman: I love that.

Misty Smith: So I've noticed with, um, a lot of your stories and every, all of your experiences, you are proactive with asking and allowing him in. So thank you for noticing that. Okay. How do you, how do you get there for those that are struggling? And just stuck and feel like they're being targeted and picked on and feeling alone.

How? How, what would you tell someone how to get there to just love and open up?

Linda Perkes: Ooh, such a fabulous question. I would say to that person, number one first, begin to be willing to believe baby step, say. You know what? God, I don't even know if you're there. I don't even know if there is a God. [00:36:00] But I'm willing to begin to believe baby step.

Misty Smith: Thank you. That's perfect.

Thank you.

Haley Freeman: Uh, going, um, with the theme of you being very proactive. I love you have a quote here that says, God can't steer a parked car. That's

Linda Perkes: Yes. Yes. So that, that brings up really funny thing about 2011 or 12. Yes. Um, when. I had been working on the book. I had taken my book to an editor, the first editor of my book actually had, I want her PhD in writing and was a writing professor at University of Utah for 18 years.

Okay. This woman knew writing and she was kind and good and diplomatic, but [00:37:00] really honest in telling me what needed to change with my writing, what needed to happen, and I left discouraged enough that I did not touch that project for a year. And I got a phone call one day from my son, this same son that says his mom's psycho.

Linda Perkes: It's in a good way, right? Uh. He said, so mom, how's, how's your book project coming? I said, oh, my book, she's taking a nap. And he said, ring the alarm. Wake her up.

Misty Smith: I love it.

Linda Perkes: Wake her up from her nap and get moving on that. And once I did start moving, then I felt further inspiration and further, yeah.

So when I just had. Put it aside and refuse to even do [00:38:00] anything with it. Yeah, I was parked car. Mm-hmm. And once I got moving that God can steer you as you take one more step forward.

Just steps then Hey, steps.

Yeah. Baby steps.

Haley Freeman: We, we've loved having you here. Is there a final takeaway that you would want someone, our listeners, to take from your experiences.

One last final takeaway. They take nothing else away from your experiences. What would be the one final thing?

Linda Perkes: The one final thing I would say is every walking, living, breathing human on this planet is capable of experiencing, we'll call it their intuition, that inner voice, the higher, kinder, wiser inner voice.

If a person doesn't believe in God, okay, but believe in yourself that you have a kinder, higher wiser [00:39:00] voice guide you. I would say to people who say, oh, well, I don't have guidance. I don't hear guidance. We'd say that's kinda like you saying I don't have a stomach and I don't digest food, I don't have intestines and I don't digest food.

Yes, you do. You everybody has a most, you know, everyone has a stomach and intestines. Um, we are all wired. We came with the ability to receive guidance.

Haley Freeman: Absolutely

Linda Perkes: that guidance. And if you would like, find yourself a spiritual life coach. Uh, my gifts grew exponentially. Uh, there were, there was a period of 15 years when I did visit with a spiritual life coach and I

also feel like the book wouldn't exist were it not for her. [00:40:00] And so get some help if you want to increase your gifts that way. But first of all, believe and know you do have higher, kinder, wiser guidance within you. I like to say that's the voice of God. Others may choose to see it differently.

Haley Freeman: Mm-hmm. Yeah.

That's great. I love that. Thank you. We've enjoyed this time with you. It's was full of so much inspiration and laughter,

Misty Smith: and, oh, thank you so much. It was. So nice to meet you. You brought so much joy and so many good thoughts.

I am so excited to listen again and remember all the thoughts that I needed just take into my daily life, but thank you. And then do you have a way or any place you want people to contact you?

Linda Perkes: Yes, I'm super excited that I just got a new website that's being created now. The website address is ready.

[00:41:00] Www.tales from the summit. com.

Misty Smith: There you go.

Linda Perkes: And what's really fun about this Tales from the Summit is it won't be just my Tales, but other people's Summit and everybody has a different way of experiencing a summit. Maybe someone's summit, their hard thing they've done is a relationship or maybe someone else's summit

hard thing they've done is a new career. But, uh, yeah, tales from the summit and I was really excited to choose that because I like to try to follow Jesus and he had Sermon on the Mount.

Mm-hmm.

Misty Smith: I love it

Linda Perkes: from a mountain too.

Misty Smith: So good.

Haley Freeman: Is the best place

for people to get your book on Amazon or can they get it on your website too, or what's the very best?

Linda Perkes: Um, right now on Amazon. Mm-hmm.

Haley Freeman: Wonderful. Awesome. Well, I [00:42:00] highly recommend your book and we'll send people your way then.

Misty Smith: Thank

Haley Freeman: you. Thank you again for coming and enjoy the rest of your day.

Linda Perkes: Hey, and Misty, keep on running.
